But it was safe with animals.
They were the one place where love didn’t need to be earned or explained. They became my companions, my comfort, and my quiet refuge. My room was alive with them: birds, hamsters, gerbils, fish, cats, dogs. When I was sad, I turned to animals instinctively. I held them, sang to them, cried with them in my arms. They met me without judgment, without conditions.
In a home where love felt uncertain, animals were steady. They became my strength, my sense of belonging, and later, my teachers. What began as comfort in childhood became a source of healing, safety, and deep presence in my adult life.
This is what I carry into my art.
Each piece is created to hold that same sense of steadiness and quiet connection: a visual reminder of the animals who ground us, soften us, and make us feel less alone.
My hope is that when you live with my work, you feel a moment of recognition: the presence of something familiar, compassionate, and deeply true.
My Journey to Animal Art
That lifelong bond came fully into focus through my soulmate dog, Lucas.
His presence was grounding, wise, and filled with a quiet, unwavering love. Being with him felt familiar, like returning to something deeply known. After his passing, grief opened a deeper understanding in me. I realized how essential it is to see animals not only for their form but also for their spirit, for the depth of who they are and the lasting imprint they leave on our lives.
Losing Lucas didn’t end that connection.
It clarified it.
It brought my life full circle.
Although my path once moved through science and animal studies, I ultimately returned to my deepest calling: creating art that reflects the presence, soul, and essence of animals. Enlightened Animal Art was born from that return, from a lifetime of being shaped, held, and changed by animals who offered me what I needed most.
Today, I create soulful, evocative animal artwork that honors the sacred role animals play in our lives and in our inner worlds. Each piece is a tribute to the love, wisdom, and quiet healing animals offer us every day and a reminder of the bond we share with them and with the natural world itself.
It’s a privilege to share this work with you. My hope is that through my art, you feel a sense of recognition for the animals who have shaped you, comforted you, and walked beside you in ways words can’t always capture.
